This page lists the people with direct responsibility for delivering First Year Chemistry. You will also meet many other members of staff from the School of Chemistry. You will find that all the lecturers in the School of Chemistry are very approachable.

Director of First Year Studies

A/Prof Adam Bridgeman is the Director of First Year Studies in Chemistry and is the Unit of Study Coordinator for all CHEM1 units. He can advise you about Chemistry course options, methods of study, how to access chemistry resources, the exams and questions you have about the teaching. Adam is located in room 222, close to Lab C in the First Year area

Dr Siggi Schmid is the Laboratory Director and has overall responsibility for the First Year Chemistry labs. If you seek advice on any aspect of the laboratory work or on-line pre-laboratory work, see Siggi in room 223, close to Lab B in the First Year area and may also be contacted by email (s.schmid@chem.usyd.edu.au). |
Administration Team
Dr Warren Lazer is the Professional Officer in charge of First Year Chemistry administration. He is supported by Mrs Sophie Patsalides in the First Year Enquiry Office and they handle all general enquiries, special considerations, tutorial quizzes and out of session lab attendance. Warren is located in Room 221, close to Lab C and may also be contacted by email (w.lazer@chem.usyd.edu.au). Sophie runs the First Year Enquiry Office located outside Lab A.
Laboratory Support Staff
Bernhard Logge is in charge of the technical aspects of the First Year Chemistry Laboratories and Service Room, supported by Hitendra Gopal and Marjan Ashna (not pictured).If you need any replacement equipment or additional chemicals they will supply them from the service room, located between Labs B and C.
